the girls in the coast of Oaxaca. they are studying printing processes with milk cartons and they make drawings of crocodiles, and wild cats. they are being taught by my best friend Ingrid a talented artist herself, in printing with metal. She teaches these girls with the help of the Taller Tamayo, the well known school of arts here in the city of OAxaca. She sent once a photo of a girl with a baby "onza" as they call them, a jaguarundi, sort of a small puma. They looked for the mother but could not find it and the girl adopted the little wild cat. Yes the picture is quite something and I tried to imagine the adventures this girl was going to have with this little wild animal.

I am interested in experimenting with sincretic images that capture the whole range of religious experiences. I am inspired by the architecture and mural paintings of the Aztecs, Mayan, Zapotecan and other peoples from America and I like to intersect them with the aesthetics brought to America by the Spanish, like virgins, saints and holy beings. I intersect them with a third paradigm which is my personal journey into Indian philosophies and the idea of enlightenment. The result shows where I am now, believing that art is the way, and being an artist is my religion.
