oil and alkyd on panel. 2012 This piece was inspired by one of my favorite songs by the band Massive Attack called "three"..It was created in conjunction with the "core" series of work however it is the only one from that period that does not contain that "core" or spine type shape. Again like "taking flight" making this a unique piece for the time it was created. Sometimes one piece just comes out that does not fit the theme of the rest per se, however all of my work always shares a common thread that will always resonate through each piece.

Amber Brookman bio After graduating as a Fine Art major from CSU Chico, Amber Brookman began her art career during the hey day of the 90’s in San Francisco and established a reputation for large scale abstract art that lends itself well to modern public and private spaces. She worked out of her studio at the Hunters Point Shipyard, where she sold work with galleries and art consultants across the country. In 2008 Brookman relocated with her new husband to Huntsville, Alabama, and into a studio at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment. Her years in Alabama bore lots of work, as well as a break to rear a human being. In her last months in Huntsville, Brookman was granted a Public Art Project designing festival flags for the new Orion Amphitheater. In 2022 Brookman returned to her roots in the Bay Area, and is now living and working in Berkeley, CA. Amber is re-discovering her voice and love for creating bodies of work that tell a story, and work as individuals as well, the way a family tells a story through its ancestry. Amber Brookman has exhibited and sold work nationally and internationally and is represented in many private, corporate and hospitality collections and spaces around the world. In recent years geometric abstraction has dominated her artistic style with her underlying interests in the sciences providing content and inspiration. Her mediums often include oils, resins and encaustics, as well as collage, fabric design and mixed media works. Brookman is currently working on a new body of work that will ultimately include painting as well as mixed media works, large scale sculpture, performance and experimental works of art addressing the ideas behind humans as integrated biophsychosocial beings. “I see my art as a sort of applied philosophy, or an embodiment of my seeking of deeper understanding of our selves as biophsychosocial beings. In that way each piece is a literal extension of my life and being.” - amber brookman
