This painting is a combination of my fluid and abstract flicking of the paint in a very controlled manner, sort of. I started this painting with a different finish in mind. The uplifting of volcanic activity is the influence behind this piece. The soil below is a fluid style wipe, which looks pretty neat up close. The above ground activity took several attempts on paper before applying the technique to the painting. This is the part of exploring new techniques that I love. If you have seen much of my work, you might notice that this color combination of White, Black and Red are among some of my favorites. This one is a striking eye catching piece. Very hard not to stop and have a look at it while you are passing. It is varnished in a subtle satin finish that enhances the color and protects the paint. It has painted edges. On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushions to protect your walls. This painting will be shipped in a crate for your protection.
