About The Artwork

The picture talks about a rejected, marginalized individual in society, who perceives himself as a ghost in a ghost town. He is going nowhere, doing nothing, overwhelmed by a sense of hopelessness, stuck in a world without end and meaning. The portrait exudes a latent feeling of inner restlessness, a sense of loss due to a long, aimless, nighttime wandering in an unknown metropolis. It is a picture of a loner, a tragic despair of immeasurable depths. The artist is once again obsessed with the themes of transience and the inevitable night. A modern painter like a haunted poet paints a ghostly, tragic vision or mystery in the middle of the night. The scary thing appears in the picture as a kind of provocation of socially acceptable normality, alluding to all the absurdity and meaninglessness of our everyday life. The stylistic work is close to Underground art, street graffiti, graffiti art of the New Wave of the 1980s. The emotions of this painting radiate a kind of Nordic painterly morbidity. The instinctive use of stylistic signs of expressionism, the subjective use of colors, the distortion and perversion of forms, have their origins in Neo-expressionism painting.

Serbian contemporary artist, designer and decorator. He is best known to the general public for his design works created in relation to artistic research from fine art to applied art (design) with the aim of problematizing and pointing out the absence of strict boundaries between them in contemporary artistic expression. These works are characterized by an interest in postmodernist ornamentalism and a mixture of historical styles taken from modern art. Various conflicting stylistic codes from the history of contemporary art allow mutual transformations. It is actually about artistic creativity that erases the boundaries and differences between high and popular art, between fine art and folk art.
