The Golden Age implies an open heart towards the elderly. It is widely believed that the level of development and humanity of a society is determined by the attitude towards children and the elderly. The current trend is that people are living longer, "old age" is being pushed back, a person of retirement age stays in good physical and mental condition and strongly disagrees with "being writing off to the archive”. However, in practice, retiring people sometimes find themselves in social and professional isolation, although they have accumulated experience, knowledge, opportunities, and also have a desire for self-realization. In one of the paintings of the Golden Age series, I depicted a golden peony. The picture contains different shades of brown, yellow, burgundy, as well as some fragments of gold. This peony doesn’t exist in the real world, but it has collected everything that I associate with the person's golden age: it isn't bright, but is rich in nuances, it’s an ordinary flower, but there is a lot of chic in it. If you're willing to listen, it will share its story with you.

My name is Renata Minko, I am a Canada based artist, specializing in botanical, landscape and seascape paintings. I am continuously looking for improvement, balance and harmony in my work and in my life. My artwork combines realistic lines, bold colours, light, spontaneity and intuition to portray not only the beauty of flowers, but the emotions and memories they evoke. My work is notable for its vibrant colors and light, because I feel a deep emotional connection with flowers; they are my infinite source of inspiration. I really believe is spiritual in nature. It gives voice to my soul, it is healing and therapeutic. I enjoy the time spent drawing as much as the time spent painting. I believe that art has the power to inform how we experience the world and to transform our lives. After March 2020, we and our world won't be the same, so I stopped signing my works RBabak, and began to sign with my REAL name Minko.
