About The Artwork
Artwork is triptych measuring 72.8" / 185cm with a 1cm gap between canvases. This is a triptych - each canvas measures 24" x 24" / 61 x 61cm square. Allowing a minimal 1/2" / 1cm gap between each canvas will create an artwork 72.8"/ 185cm long. However spacing can be up to 10cm apart to create a 2m artwork. The paint flows around the deep edge of the canvas 1 1/4 inch (3.5cm). Golden Divide is part of the "Gold" series and is inspired by red landscapes of the Australian outback on a grey day. This abstract landscape is highly tactile with multiple layers of oil paints and gold leaf. Petrol blue, denim blue, terracotta, gold leaf, slate grays, midnight blues are used to create a vivid artwork. Several layers of clear varnish seal and ensure durability of artwork surface. I paint, I create and make things that make me happy. Sounds simple enough... but maybe that's what it should be. I was born in Ireland, grew up in Zimbabwe and have lived in the UK,USA and Australia. Meeting new people and exploring where I live inspires much of my work. I create in a medium appropriate to the inspiration. My artwork finds expression in oils, acrylics, charcoal, mixed media and glass. I use print making, stenciling, texture, fabric and transfers to create multi-layered tactile pieces. You will find my unique artwork in offices, hotels, homes, bars and restaurants in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, China, Singapore and Southern Africa. I have 14 years of experience consulting on various international projects where the work was created to specification as the majority of the projects required custom made artwork. I understand how to evaluate and select materials that align with aesthetics, compliance and individual needs. I am very comfortable with collaborating on a brief and love the cross pollination of ideas that result from co-designing art work.
