I'm a visual artist based in Toronto and Lisbon. In my artistic practice, I try to bring together the dreams and subconscious, marine life and ecology, and explore the depths of human connection to the natural world. I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and reverence for the fragile ecosystems that shape our planet. Through my paintings, I seek to convey the urgent need for ecological preservation and raise awareness about the interconnectedness of all living beings. The various representations of birds and sea creatures, as well as minimalist architecture and transport vehicles, depict freedom, migration, and the inherent connection between land, sea and sky. They serve as visual metaphors for the journeys we undertake in search of home. Using the mediums of acrylic and oil on canvas, I aim to evoke emotions tied to immigration and displacement and to invite viewers to explore their connections to the environment, and ultimately our shared existence in a vast and ever-changing world.
