About The Artwork
Painting is done with acrylic colors on a thin wooden plate (MDF). I choose an underground already painted randomly with several colors. Using numerous layers of glazes I worked out the image in its forms letting the underground shine through. The surface remained rather smooth. In my work I often come back to certain subjects which are still capivating me. In this case we have a caver doing his research deeply below the surface of the earth. I was captured by the severe composition yet giving the feeling of staying in pretty cold water.
