A WARDROBE story In our garage there was an old wardrobe. It was a piece of economic furniture, bought by my parents when just married. Little money and basic functional needs. After some years they purchased something more good-looking, but the old one was still robust and there was a sentimental link, so it was moved in the garage, where it was used to store all those things you need to have at hand, but you do not wish to show to everybody coming in. It continued its honest and humble work for many years. Last summer I was looking for a place to put my art stuff: paints, brushes, canvas, as my parents where a little tired to have all my things hanging everywhere. I noticed the old wardrobe in the garage, and I asked if I could use it. Once I got it I saw it needed some maintenance, there were stains, rust and scratches almost everywhere. So i took a primer tin and I paint everything, inside and outside. Then I put a black paint base. And then I started drawing on all surfaces with a white marker: flowers, butterflies, frogs and newts. Finally I took my acrylic colors, and everything went to life! Internally I left the raw primer surface, but I covered the shelves with pages coming from my favorite animals encyclopedia printed in the 60ties. Thats it! I enjoyed a lot this work, and I am very happy with the result! Do you have a similar need? Call me, we can organize something. Just for the fun of numbers, the wardrobe is 6 feet high, and a little bit less than 5 feels large. It’s a standard 2 feet deep. Ah, and I put 6 orange industrial wheels on the bottom, to be able to move my wardrobe everywhere!.

My name is Alessandro, I live in a small village in the north area of Milan, near the mountains and the lakes. I was born in Milan in 1993, the 22nd of May. I love fine arts since I was a child, drawing and painting was what I liked more at school, from the very beginning. This is for me the best way to express myself and communicate. My objective in fine arts is to express my sensations and my impressions, to make people feel what I feel, to share my passions. So, I use any technique and material I consider appropriate for the specific situation and subject. I use drawing, painting, sculpture and video, but I often look for new ways, new techniques to express what I have inside. I use mixed techniques as collage, drawing and painting together, and I explored new materials and old expressive methods, such as sewing and wire mesh shaping. For instance, I did some compositions using animal horns: in fact, you can draw with anything you have available when you are inspired. For me the search for the "right" colour shade is very important, I try the colours’ shades again and again, until it satisfies the need of the moment. In the end, the colours’ tests become a work in the work, I've collected a lot of them, and every new work still produces news. The recurring theme for me is nature, especially animals, a passion that I carry inside me since I was a child. One of my first drawings, made in the kindergarten, was my dog, Miki, in the backyard. I hope to be able to pass on to you this love of mine for nature, for colors, for what is beautiful, because it is what I care about most.
