About The Artwork
An African hippo on a vibrant lime green background. The background is filled with African symbols meaning things such as "creativity," "protection," "friendship" etc. . "We were in Botswana on a comoro boat. The hippos seemed calm as we paddled past. Suddenly there were screams and the boat behind us was being chased by a hippo. Cute and calm... then suddenly wild and ferocious. Much like Africa."

Whilst maintaining her ironic humor she has painted a number of other series of works, including ‘Wild Life’ ‘Zulu Lulu’ and 'Going to the Dogs series. A recurring theme in her work is a play on words and the use of popular jargon. Her quirky, humorous, yet profoundly insightful art, allows the viewer not only to laugh at themselves but to examine many of the absurd aspects of life.
