About The Artwork

Christmas Eve 2020 i went out with some friends to have some fun, on our way back home around past 10pm some group of children ran to us and said please brothers can we get some change you remained from the bar across. I was dazed with shock so we started questioning then where their parents are they said they don't have dad's but their moms send them out to beg for money at night and during the day they sell fruits by the roadside. I couldn't help but cry in my heart, i ask them what they would like to be when they grow one said a lawyer and another said a teacher while the other 3 said doctors, I wish i could help and i also wish our system of government is meaningful. This is one thing we see on the streets of Africa daily, child abuse and poor parenting. Basically this piece is questioning the hope of living African children

King is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist from Enugu, Nigeria. He was diagnosed with dyslexia from an early age. As a response to this, he started to explore painting as an alternative communication tool. By portraying his emotions on the canvas, the obstacles present in written language, disappear. Through diverse forms of material expression, such as designing, making handmade leather crafts and jewellery, he creates mixed media artworks which combine his artistic knowledge with his unique way of perceiving the world. In October 2021, King founded the “afro-evangelism art” movement, which aims on utilising the beauty of art to preach a message of love and stir up spiritual enlightenment in the mind of his viewers.
