About The Artwork
Another of my close-up horse studies in acrylic. This one is large on A2 size board. I find there is often a tendency with black animals to make them either too dark or in an attempt to show highlights, make them look grey and old. I felt that with some added sienna lights this painting was 'lifted' sufficiently without looking too intense. As a 'Black Beauty' fan through my childhood
