Ten years ago, I moved to Bologna, Italy, to immerse myself in the world of art, with a particular focus on illustration. After a period of learning, I began working as an illustrator for magazines, newspapers, and children's books. To date, I have published 4 illustrated books and collaborated with various internationally renowned magazines, including The New Yorker and Gli Asini. My passion for illustration has led me to create posters for Italian festivals such as the Bologna Jazz Festival. Unlike computers that use a single program for each section, I prefer to experiment with different techniques, adapting them to drawing, illustration, or painting. I am not limited to the role of illustrator: I believe that each plate should be a complete work, like a painting. For this, I draw inspiration from people, places, sensations, smells, lights, shadows, and above all, childhood memories and oriental fairy tales. Through my illustrations, I want to bring viewers back to the little things that are often forgotten, those that make us happy and suffer at the same time, and that help us grow as people. I mainly use acrylic colors, sometimes combined with paper collage and the monoprint technique. In some cases, I also create fabric sculptures to bring my characters to life, like dolls. When working with acrylic, monoprint, or collage, I let my creativity run wild. I start by applying colors to the paper, exploring the nuances and trying to bring out what has been lost. I find my characters and develop the story within the plate, until I reach a scene that evokes a precise memory. In addition to illustration, I also dedicate myself to creating fabric dolls, a way to relive what has been lost. My works have small dimensions, usually A4 and A3, due to the limited space available for my work. I am active on Instagram, where you can admire my illustrations and follow my creative process: http://instagram.com/haniehghashghaei
