I began with layers of colors and then made impressions with some of my tools; one being a mason's trowel. Makes for interesting effects when paint is applied. Then came shapes. In my mind (like so many today) my thoughts focus on Covid19 and what we are all going through. So, as I continued making shapes and assorted my palette, what emerged were stumbling blocks..... or hurdles we are all trying to get past. I used glazes to tone down hues in areas and scrubbed others. I then applied a coat of epoxy which gives the work a very hi gloss finish. Definitely a piece that will make people wonder and see things I, as the artist may not have intended. A piece to enjoy.
Photos were taken after the resin was applied so there is some glare, which is hard to avoid.

I am a University graduate with a degree in art……………..but that does NOT make me the painter I am! Living in Florida full time, means color attacks my senses on an ongoing basis. I see it, I breathe it, I touch it, I LIVE it!!! I love to use an abundance of color and I very intentionally violate the rules. if I’ve caused someone to STOP and LOOK and THINK about my work then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do. It is all part of the journey of creativity………..and then the anticipation of it all………… How will the viewer perceive my art and will they be touched by it.
