I See Red Painting

'I See Red' is a painting on different levels. On one hand its message is simple. Words embedded in colour, yet on another it is an ironic statement and one of contrast. To 'see red' is to quicken to anger yet what I am trying to show in this piece is in all we do and all we say there is often another side to it. Another emotion behind it. Perhaps even another context or meaning to our actions and words which can't be expressed. The letters here are hand cut and then painted over and in a certain light they disappear yet in another they stand proud and noticeable. The choice of blue is a perceived colour of harmony and this adds one more possible layer of irony to this artwork.
