The icon of St. Spyridon the Wonderworker of Trimifunts was painted in the traditional canonical style and is a copy of a Byzantine fresco. The production of the icon was carried out taking into account ancient and modern technologies. This is a layered tempera painting using egg emulsion and natural pigments, done on primed board using washed chalk and linen, and animal glue. This board covering is called "levkas". The base is a linden board, made of boards that have been in natural drying conditions for a long time, which is one of the important indicators of the quality of an icon board. On the front side, the "ark" is a symbolic recess on the board, which is both a frame and a protective barrier for preserving the paint layer, as well as a symbolic image of Noah's Ark and a memory of the Flood. On the reverse side of the board are two dowels made of oak board. The icon uses gold leaf. Upon completion of the painting, the icon is covered with a layer of natural drying oil and a protective layer of varnish. The back side of the icon board is covered with an antibacterial protective coating. The icon was painted in 2010. St. Spyridon of Trimythia is not only a beautiful work of art, but also an object of spiritual veneration.
