About The Artwork

Just before night. Original painting This oil on canvas was inspired by the horizon over the sea, at the start of the night, just before it sets in. This work captures the majesty and tranquility of the blue hour, inviting the viewer to delve into the serenity of this fleeting moment. I imagined this scene which could be located in Arcachon France and the lights of the villages in the distance, on the other side of the basin. Oil on canvas wooden frame with keys. The painting is protected by varnish. The 2 cm edges are painted black for direct hanging with or without framing. Sold unframed Format 100 x 80 cm The work comes with a certificate of authenticity

I am working on several simultaneous projects. My creative research is therefore not linear, but punctuated by ruptures, sequences, progressions at variable speeds. I do not complete a project but pursue it tirelessly, sometimes taking paths, sometimes dead ends, sometimes opening up to other possibilities, other fields of research. Even if dead ends may seem a waste of time, and if, at this moment, I feel the failure, they nevertheless nourish the progress of my projects, the ripening of my creativity, close doors to open others. . Apnea / cosmos, abstract / ocean, domains which combine the infinity of space, with the depth of the abyss. (All these atoms which form a whole in the universe and from which we cannot escape, making each of us one with the universe). Landscapes which simultaneously evoke the mountain and the sea, the sky and the ocean. Nature, the aquatic element, crazy gardens, wise gardens. The untidy nature, the goldfish ponds. To work with a knife that sculpts the material, the reflections of water. The vibrant vegetation, never deadpan, to the liking of the slightest wind. The imaginary landscapes, all in transparency, successions of glazes, the very nuanced tones of blues, greens and spotted with red, orange tree, quinachridone pink, to represent the blooming of exuberant flowers. The horizon, the sea, inspired by the Arcachon basin, the ocean. From the west coast of France. And then the fascination for infinite space, the photographs of Hubble, the big bang, the stars which are born and die in formidable explosions / implosions, the cosmological beauty, the mystery of the grandiose infinity. The guiding principle of the projects is my creative spontaneity. My need to externalize my emotions, without verbalizing, without saying too much, from my dreams or observations. This line which tends to become more and more abstract. I try to touch subtly on the figurative: like a dream that gets blurred when you wake up, that disappears, is transformed, and idealizes the very idea of the dream, gives it back its emotional force.
