This work belongs to a series of paintings the subject of which is transhumanism, as a philosophy and project aimed at increasing the human being and making it a kind of ultra-sophisticated machine that can be indefinitely improved and repaired. The human figure tends to disappear behind technology, every organ, every part of the body becomes like a piece of a puzzle that can be combined endlessly. Here, the "March of Progress" shows a man in motion, like a conqueror: it is all the ambiguity of technical and scientific progress, which presents itself as something desirable, which goes forward, but at the risk of weakening the true, organic nature of the human condition. This work is made in mixed technique on canvas and combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and raised squares). It is a unique piece. It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 80x60 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
