Earth is our home and it is the only one we've got. For all we know, life as we know it may be unique in a whole universe. And, as with all the good things, we take it for granted. We make polution with high gas emissions, we cut and burn the prescious forests, we polute the oceans and kill the wild life that shares this beautiful place with us. My love for nature is expressed in every painting I've done, from the olive tree, forest and water, to a simple grass, or a cloud, or an abstract artwork. No matter the subject, I have one way of depicting it, and that is with love, optimism, and gratitude. And that is the message I try to send to whoever is looking at my work. It is a reminder of where we are, and what generations to come could loose. A painting of the burning Sun overlooking the curved patch of Earth with its atmosphere and miraculous sprouts of life growing from dirt is my chosen theme for the project called ‘Portraits from the Precipice’. Sprouts represent the seed of life and a miracle of existence and growth, on one hand, and on the other, a new generation and new technology that is now emerging, to leave behind the problems inherited from older generation with the old industrial age, polution and problems. Emerging with this new generation a new technology leads us into the information age, arming the new generation with knowledge and interconnections to tackle the problems that our children will inherit. Note that colours may vary depending on exposure to light and your monitor settings. Painting is varnished with Windsor&Newton satin varnish for acrylics. Materials used: acrylic paint, studio cotton canvas mounted on a thin frame painted on the sides

"Every blade of grass, leaf, rock or water flowing, carries vibration of feelings, memories, love in the broadest sense, a link with the past and ancestors, a glimmer of distant time events in the cosmos, a hint of eternity. Listening to the voice of internal intuition, these paintings are searching for those feelings, the myths of the past, once lived moment in space and time, and are looking for a connection between pre-state and the moment in which they arise. Tendency of the author is not to impose its own sensation of experienced in this process, but to encourage the contemplation and bring the viewer into the picture as a participant in the creative process, so that the image lives on and continues to develop in the eye of the beholder. Nature, whether it's an organic or non-organic world, in itself leads to contemplation. And there, in that inner world, the thoughtfulness that has no use for practical implementation, ultimately leads to creation." (The Artist)
