About The Artwork

just a little pig based off a tattoo design I did. Some people have identified with the imagery leaning towards vegan ideas and calling attention to the slaughter of animals on an industrial scale. Personably it was more for the fun of the image, I have this tattooed on my foot ( along with a rooster), the sailor style image was for good luck, so they would not drown if the ship sank. The idea was all animals in old days were crated so they would not move around the ship. But when the ship sank the crates would float. most sailors did not know how to swim so they would lean to superstition and hope they would survive a wreck. The Painting is made with high quality acrylic pigments and varnished with matte finish to protect lightfastness and diminish UV damage. The painting was made on study ridged Birchwood panel that ca be easily mounted with hooks or framed to hand on wall.
