''Loose ends dangle down...then take flight" is an original, bright and colorful contemporary tribute to the joy of traversing our individual paths as humans. Our journeys overlap, intersect and often circle back around; there are no straight lines in this image as rarely does one walk a totally straight path...life throws us curve balls and loose ends as well but the journey continues. In the creation of this work, I couldn't create it with anything less than rich oils. The deep luminosity and texture, that makes oils so magical and captivating to work with, conveys the rich tones of each "path" in this painting. The deep jewel tones reveal an optimistic outlook while the random patterns depict twists and turns, as art does imitate life...the human experience can feel tangled at times but my desire for the collector, in viewing "Loose ends dangle down..." will impart a sense of joy, lifting one's spirits in the process. I lived and worked as a professional artist in Southern California four decades and now Dallas, Texas. Both states offer amazing inspiration grounded in the diverse landscapes and the colorful residents sharing their warmth and charm. My creative endeavors have primarily focused on creating original works for collectors and design projects around the world. My work is displayed in private collections and residences, public settings including large hotels, restaurants and bistros from California to Texas, and Bahrain to Beijing. As a self taught artist, having inherited my creativity from my professional art director father, my work is in flux as I continually explore new media and technques. I am not tethered to one set style nor medium; I spontaneously took up oils in 2014 for a rush client project (due & completed in 36 hours) and was immediately hooked! The magic of oils is their vibrant pigments, vital versatility, and the quixotic rush of capturing one's vision on canvas thus it happens to be my favorite method of translating my concepts to share with others. My colorful journey continues and eventually, may my epitaph read: She came, She saw, She created.
