This work is part of a series of about 70 oil paintings on canvas, commissioned by the artist for a large project dedicated to the sea. The canvases of this series, appreciated by sailing lovers and prestigious protagonists of the world of regattas, are now present in Italy, France, Switzerland, Holland, Russia, United States, India, China, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates. The subject was created taking inspiration from a photograph taken personally by the artist following the regattas. The protagonist of this work is light, from which the painting takes its title, taking as its first starting point the silent suspension and the clear chiaroscuro cuts of Edward Hopper's American Realism. The wide breath of the sky and the sea are the background to the elegant profile of the boat in regatta. The luminous vibration of the sail has been rendered through different pictorial superimpositions of intertwined shades and represents an element of skilful pictorial technique. The execution of the painting involved a technique of applying color by glaze, carried out with quality pigments and respecting the natural drying times.

After graduating in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, I obtained a scholarship at the Villa Arson Contemporary Art Center in Nice and an artist residency at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan. Following numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad, my works are now present in private collections in Italy, France, Switzerland, Holland, Russia, the United States, India, China, Brazil, Japan and the United Arab Emirates. The foundation of my research concerns the alliance between the visible and the invisible. Believing that technique is not a way of looking back but, on the contrary, an added value useful for achieving important and innovative creative goals, the figurative painting that characterized the first part of my production offered me the opportunity to play on the line boundary between the material and the immaterial dimension. At the time of my academic training I was chosen as the sole artist for the realization of a large Nautical Art project, for which I created over seventy oils on canvas appreciated by enthusiasts and protagonists of the world of the sea in Italy and abroad. Already from the subject of these works my interest in the synergy between the known and the unknown of which navigation becomes a symbol was born: emblem of the human drive to strive for the absolute. The recently produced abstracts of light continue the research begun with the canvases that combine painting and sculpture, in which I intend to capture the energy arising from the point of contact between tangible and intangible. The sculptural production of marble and alabaster in combination with metals continues in parallel with pieces in which the transformation of recycled objects becomes a means of revealing "other" dimensions underlying everyday life.
