So many blood tests, biopsies, CAT SCANs, appointments, nuclear diagnostic tests, genetic tests... so many tests, so much stress. In September, I found out I also had malignant melanoma - an aggressive skin cancer. On October 10, 11:11 am, 2020 I married My Love Tanja Kisslinger. Then, on October 16, 10 am I had surgery. Intense Love, chronic thoughts of death, and a double diagnosis of cancer. The surgery was successful in removing the melanoma. But I will live with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia) always. I did not really paint much over the past few months. I had to rest. I had to force myself to self care. So I resisted the soul-level need to paint. I did not share my private journey over the past months. But I wished to share that I am fucking alive. And I am so deeply appreciative to get to wake up and have breakfast with Tanja my love Kisslinger, call my Mom almost every day. Here is a poem I wrote: no more pain killers I want to feel this cancer I want to feel the power of my body a cauldron of rage fighting, waging war destroying malignant cells I am the sun burning through my skin.
