I’ve been obsessed with painting flowers specifically aging and dying flowers for a long time. talking with a friend recently I recollected the meaningful origin of this … I worked with people who have cerebral palsy for quite a number of years, beginning at age 20. during that time I was a physical therapy aide, I assisted people hands-on with their range of motion and other exercises. it was tender fun and sweet work. I loved my clients. Mary, the physical therapist, always had flowers on her desk, and she always let them transform to their fullest expression of decay. from bright and beautiful, to falling apart, dried, mangled and molding. they were still beautiful.
