About The Artwork
I based this painting on a story idea about a young woman who receives bad news while riding the subway over the Manhattan Bridge. A young man sees her from a bus and recognizing her departs the bus he is riding to connect with her. I wanted to convey a feeling of despair and hope within the same work. I have created several paintings like this that merge with my work as a storyboard artist to create a multiple image of the same subject.
