About The Artwork
The artist's family came to America as immigrants. Later the artist would live and work in North Africa and become attached to the culture there. This painting reveals the challenges, sorrows and hopeful journey that immigrants make leaving Africa for Europe. There are many reasons for migration - work, study, family, and asylum. In this piece the people are seeking asylum and undertaking a journey that starts on foot, involves a sea voyage on a dodgy boat and an eventual meetup in Trafalgar Square. This is a triptych. Each canvas is 20x20 inches and shipping will be a lot less than projected by Saatchi software.
