Milky Way Painting

The Milky Way. A herd of cows grazing in a sun-drenched meadow moves leisurely from one edge of the painting to the other. The chaotically scattered spots on the bodies of the animals and the repetitive movements of the figures in a single rhythm create a bizarre ornament on a contrastingly homogeneous field. I saw this motif during one of my out-of-town walks. I was impressed by the feeling of peace and tranquility that was induced by contemplation of this long motley ribbon of animals slowly flowing across the endless field. It was as if it sheltered or embraced this land with infinite serenity. Canvas on stretcher, no frame required - neat white ends of the painting.
