Morning Breaks Painting

Marjorie returned to her deep Southern roots in 2012, following a job relocation with her husband, Scott. Marjorie’s educational background is in the medical field, where she worked for years as a Registered nurse, teaching and instructor with transitional living facilities for the intellectually disabled. Born and raised along the Mississippi and Louisiana coast, Marjorie has felt back at home on the Georgia Coast. She enjoys coastal living in Belvedere Island Plantation of McIntosh County, after having raised her family in Williamsburg, Va for the past 15 yrs. Marjorie was introduced to oil painting through local coastal artists in her community. “A love of photography, gardening, animals, and the beautiful coastal surroundings gives, Marjorie a daily dose of inspiration and is evident in the subjects she enjoys painting. Marjorie’s medium of choice is oil. She continues to hone her painting skills through daily painting, reading, workshops and plein air outings. Marjorie debuted the art community, taking first place and “Best in show” (amateur fine art division) at the Georgia National Fair, 2015, Fine Art Purchase award, along with cover of the fine art brochure for 2016. First, second, and third place recognition Fine arts Georgia National Fair, 2016, and first and second place honors Jekyll Island Arts Festival. Marjorie’s work was chosen as part of the current Governors exhibit at the State Capital Atlanta, as well as the House of Appropriations exhibit for the Georgia Council for the Arts. She is a member of the Georgia Coastal Artist Guild, McIntosh Art Association, Glynn Art Association, as well as Jekyll Island Art Association.
