About The Artwork

What you see in these works, which I have been doing for a few years, are not, for the most part, "real" landscapes. They are what I call “Dream Landscapes”, that is, not an exact copy of a specific place, but the sensation that nature transmits to me, when seeing it live or, for example, learning from other works of art, mainly from landscape painters. . , but also surfing the Internet, looking through photos in magazines, listening to music, etc., and later expressing it in a symbolic way. As the title indicates, the artwork speaks of a secret, hidden place, perhaps a refuge like the primal cave or the maternal womb. The scene flows from left to right. We see a forest with trunks that look like the steps of a colored staircase that introduce us to the landscape. First of all we see a sun that, like a seed of light, is placed in a central position around which a movement, life, is generated. It is a distant sun, it seems as if it has already fulfilled its purpose. If we move downward we see a kind of pond, although it could also be an egg or even a blue planet. Inside there are some indefinite objects of various colors that seem to want to take shape, it is not known if they are entering the pond or already emerging. Some look like a fish jumping over the water. On the right are some black shapes that look like snakes, worms or even sperm. There are also some color spots. Farther to the right, a black-headed woman with a blue bodice and a green skirt seems to appear, indicating to those crawling beings that they should follow the direction of her arm toward a reddish lagoon. This woman's belt is made of thorns. Gentleness may become thorny at some point. A set of elements of different shapes and colors emerge upward from this woman's mouth. Some look like birds, some look like heads, some look like both. These elements head back towards the forest, completing the circular movement. The artwork has painted edges, so no frame it´s needed but it´s recommended.
