In the dream of my landscapes (also in reality) The year 2020 was a year of a lot of creation, I felt at home, the pandemic gave me the peace of mind of not having to go out 'necessarily', I was at home full of the desire to paint, I had a lot of ideas and a lot of time, but there was all the heaviness in the air that forced me to go off into dark places. I used to work, perhaps by chance, on paintings where little red objects popped up on top of subjects, as if to make you remember that it was something that did not belong to reality. Later this 'red' grew until it covered almost the entire painting. It created a mournful landscape, but always giving the possibility of getting out of it; the conjunction of red and black as two external elements, but with the knowledge that nothing is so external that it does not influence us. After this period or series or memento of pictorial research, I started to put myself into colours, I needed to find myself in colours, to take up old techniques, to use painting also as matter and to get out of the previous melancholy. I started to make self-portraits immersed in dreamlike landscapes full of colours, where the subject did not seem to belong. I felt this way after spending so much time at home, a paradox. Having the studio at home after a while made me feel in a strange place when I was painting, in a place where I could not live my art freely. This shift from bi- to multi-colourism, from sacred to dreamlike representation, led me to a new adventure or an old dream, to look for a place where I could paint outside the everyday and I did it. I have found my new Atelier in the centre of Bologna, now I can leave the comfort of my home and go paint in a place 'made especially' for this, receive people who want to see my paintings, soon I will start holding courses for those who want to immerse themselves in this adventure.
