I moved to Arizona at the end of 2004 so I had never seen any of the night blooming flowers before. One night I was taking out my garbage cans about midnight and noticed these very large flowers at the top of this large cactus near my driveway. I was amazed! So I got my camera and a ladder so I could take some photos of these beautiful flowers. My neighbor came out to see what I was doing and gave me so much information about this cacti. He even got up on the ladder and took some amazing photos for me. I told him I wanted to paint this 10 inch flower. I had about 36 photos of them. So a few weeks later I decided to paint them on a large 36 inch square canvas. It took me about two weeks to do this painting. I have a love of texture in the stamens and at the edge of each petal. I wanted them to look like a 3-D flower. This painting has won a couple of awards and I had it hanging for several years as my feature in my great room. I didn't want to sell it cause I loved it so much. But now I have so many others to pick from that I thought I should sell it and let someone else enjoy this painting. It is painted on the sides, has wire on the back and is signed front & back. It is in new condition. Originally priced at $2250.00 but just for this listing, I am offering at only $1600.00 plus S&H

Carol has been a professional artist for over fifty years, mastering calligraphy, watercolors and now acrylics. She studied at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and took many private classes but considers herself to be a self taught artist. Using lots of detail, layering bright and bold colors and sometimes a touch of humor, has won her many awards. She continues to win awards today. She has been published and has a painting in the Postal Museum of the Smithsonian. She will be a featured artist with the Mayo Galleries in Arizona later this year. Carol likes to draw the viewer into her paintings using her particular style. She loves nature and enjoys painting flowers, land/seascapes and some abstracts. She applies a lot of layering in her paintings no matter the subject matter. Always wanting to improve her skills, she taught herself how to use the palette knife. Her latest series of Moon In Africa Series is a fine example of those bright colors contrasting with the moon and the animal silhouettes. Most of her paintings are available in print through FineArtAmerica.com and through LouisLeonardArt.com It is an honor and a privilege that Carol has been invited again to be a featured artist with the Mayo Clinic Galleries in Phoenix Arizona beginning in February 21,2023 to May 23, 2023. Her main goal with her art is to make people smile. "Life needs more joy and a painting should give the viewer joy. A happy painting is my way of giving back to those who view or buy them".
