About The Artwork

"No Country for Old Men" by Kitsune Kowai. Painting on an old topographic map. Inspired by pareildolia and Rorschach tests. Vaals is located in the extreme southeast of Dutch Limburg. The village lies on the national border of the Netherlands, near the border triangle with Belgium and Germany, west of the German city of Aachen. Vaals has more than 7,920 inhabitants. The Vaalserberg is the highest point of "European Netherlands" at 322.4 meters NAP, where the Vaal Tri-border Point is also located. The Schneeberg to the north of the village, located in Germany, gets its name from the limestone soil that in summer has a strikingly light color when compared to the surrounding soils.
