About The Artwork

This artwork was exhibited at the San Salvatore in Lauro Museum in Rome in 2022, and it is part of the series that won the 2021 Green Fairy Arbiter First Prize, SyArt, Sorrento International Villa Fiorentini Festival. It is also featured in the catalog that will be sent to the client. The artwork consists of two adjacent canvases, one measuring 100x70 cm and the other 100x100 cm, which can be hung on the wall together or separately. I utilized acrylic, resin, enamel, and bitumen on canvas. In this depiction, on both sides, there are women walking, seemingly from another era. In the distance, there are other small beings. Delicate chromatic tones of orange and blue suggest it could be a beach, a dream, or an unreal place. The strokes are as delicate as we, humans, should be on this earth. The light suspends reality, bringing forth figures free from temporal constraints. The subjects exist in a timeless and metaphysical dimension, where memories become the main sentiment.

I am an Italian artist born in Rome, where I live and work. The first experience I remember as an artist dates back to when I was very young and I loved to draw and cut and paste by hiding under the living room table in my parents' house, everything I do now in my studio. Certainly resin is a constant in my production. Over the years, I have developed a technique centred on the chromatic and structural relationship between liquid matter, pigments and the sign line. The latter is sometimes embodied in figures with liquid strokes, deliberately far removed from a didactic figurative. Thus, the protagonists of the works in the 'Suspended Atmospheres' series, for example, are colour and light, symbols of my intimate dimension, and the sign which, when present, lives in a timeless and metaphysical dimension. While in the latest works in the series 'Close Your Eyes' there is a dualism between basic abstractionism and figurative symbolism. I divide the work into two phases, the first one very instinctive in which I pour the various colours, enamel, acrylic and resin on the canvas, and then in the second phase I combine elements of nature with objects related to the sphere of everyday life, which evoke human presence and refer to a conscious use of the environment. Chairs, armchairs and interiors announce women and men without making them manifest, leaving the observer with a feeling of experience linked to his or her own emotional sphere. Through these, I would like to invite us to stop, to close our eyes to enjoy the breath of creation and in doing so to finally see a new reality to be experienced in harmony with Nature.
