Almost all of his poems have a poetic Du (You): he always talks to someone - to himself, to an imaginary interlocutor, to specific people, to his mother, to his beloved woman (no, he does not name names or other biographical data, but…) - always a conversation. In each poem I hear impulses, underlying questions - and to me as a reader (not necessarily as a professional reader and translator, but simply as a recipient). Celan allows the possibility of co-conversation, his poems are not closed, despite the encryption, encryption. When you gradually "break" the code, you see the text in the palm of your hand: it is addressed to you and speaks to you. This is one of Celan's mysteries - to mobilize the reader in this way, involving him in an intimate conversation. I think he is not only a modern poet. He is the poet of the future.
