About The Artwork
This came right out of my head. I didn't use any reference besides looking around the room at lines and shapes. I think it was inspired by a van Gogh painting which depicts his room. I love the face. It also reminds me of a myself with the long hair in the early 2000s. It came up improvised but very concise. Very little painting over.

I am very influenced by music most particularly rockabilly, delta, blues, Proto-punk, jazz, hip hop, and anything beatnik. Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, The Velvet Underground, The Cramps, and De La Soul are some of my favorite artists. Music helps me improvise with the help of music. I never have a plan and don't sketch anything. I grab random photos from magazines and interpret them with my paint brush. I use lots of shapes and patterns to help the composition.
