About The Artwork

Following the language of the 'Filters' series, the works opacity35/30 suggest an analogical look at patterns of constructions used in digital images. The manual construction processes used contest the ephemerality that we deal with our images and the time we observe this information these days. The set of works transits in a short period of time identified by the opening and closing of the eyes. In a subtle way, the painting is presented in low opacity, forcing us to identify it in details at all times, suggesting the interpretation of its appearance and/or disappearance.

b. 1991, lives and work in São Paulo, Brazil Graduated in Industrial Design from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Vinicius bases his production on dialogues between painting and matter, transiting in object, sculpture and drawing languages. The exploration and choice of materials, especially wood as a support, demonstrates the importance they play in the artist’s research and how their sensory and manipulation peculiarities interfere in the perception of each work. The use of the human figure and form as a vehicle of contact in her practice suggests the integration of the observer with the virtuality of representation and the intervention in the matter, proposing the transformation of the object and its handler. Since 2015, the artist has participated in group and individual exhibitions in Brazil and the United States. He received an honorable mention at the Levino Fanzeres Art Salon in 2022.
