OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD is part of "Reality Bites", a collection of realist paintings, which are full of color and underlying messages. The piece is painted in oils on linen, in tones of light blue, reminding the viewer of those old walls with so much history stuck to them. It is a horizontal and quite large format. The shell represents how human nature tends to move slow and be stuck to its ways, while the pebbles represent those obstacles that come to us every day. It's a painting that inspires peace at the first glance, but the objects make you think. The underlying message is one of hope. While we tend to be set on our ways, with courage we can move on and make a difference to those around us and to society. It is a beautiful piece with a profound meaning. This painting will last you a lifetime. For your convenience, it's shipped stretched and wired, ready to hang. 1.5" edge is painted. Certificate of Authenticity. Signed on front and back.

"I was raised in a family, which taught me the concept and essence of spirituality. I was born in Cartagena, Colombia, a multicultural and colorful city that influenced my style as an artist. I have been living and working in Miami, Florida for more than 30 years. The nature of the human condition has always intrigued me. I have been drawing and painting since my early childhood, experimenting until I fell in love with oils, a very noble medium that lets itself be manipulated, and has the great advantage of its brightness and smooth consistency. My pieces are full of exciting colors with textures and subtle messages that enrich their content. I look at the nostalgia of the past recognizing its importance, not thinking that it was always better, but using it as a reminder to improve our future. As an artist, I feel the obligation and mission of using my talent to improve the life of those who see my work, by transmitting a message of life, love and positivism." Diana Benedetti’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions museums and galleries in the United States and abroad including the Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art in Coral Gables, Florida; the Museo de Arte Moderno in Cartagena, Colombia, the Luzma Gallery in Miami; the O & Y Gallery, Art Rouge Gallery, and the Kapz Gallery in Coral Gables, Florida; the Galeria de la Aduana in Barranquilla, Colombia; and the LA Art Gallery in San Salvador, El Salvador. Benedetti studied fine art at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, the Miami Dade Community College in Miami, and Georgia State University in Atlanta. She was born in Cartagena, Colombia in 1963, and currently lives in Miami.
