'Portrait of an Aging Artist' Painting

In the annals of Art History, artists through out the ages have drawn or painted their self-portraits. The self-portrait has in many instances reflected the artist’s perception of themselves at a particular, frozen moment during their lives. They have tried to seal the moment of their reflections, about their youth, middle age, old age, moods, physical impressions, expressive renditions of who they think they were, becoming or wanted the world to view them how they wanted to be remembered. In this long, well-documented tradition, of artist self- portraits, I have joined their club, and have also tried to document moments of my life, through my eyes, the loss of my full boyhood hair, and the focus of my paying homage to my artistic profession, holding a paint brush in my right hand, and grasping the latest publication of my poetry book in my left hand.
