This original art was created during the summer of 2020 during the Covid19 Quarantine in Cincinnati, OH. It is 18 x 18 inches, acrylic paint on a solid birch panel. This is the seventh in the series, it is named: Day 95. It features pink, orange and purple in a grid pattern with curves. I paint 5 days a week at my studio at the Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. My studio is open by appointment and on the last Friday of every month . You will find me on the fifth floor in studio 510A. I am the daughter of an industrial engineer and an artist. My dad was the engineer, and I learned about spatial relationships and design from watching him build model airplanes. Both parents encouraged me to draw and to make things with my hands. My mother was a creative person. It was the 70s, so she was home with us. She taught me to sew, which is something that I still love to do. I graduated from Ohio University and worked as a graphic designer for 20 years. In 2007, I trained at the Midwest Culinary Institute in Cincinnati, to be a personal chef. I operated a small catering and personal chef business for 4 years. Since 2013, I have had the opportunity to refocus my career path, again, and to make fine art. I am a painter working in several media. In 2020, I started a large series of still life paintings in oil and cold wax. The perspective of those paintings interested me very much, and I have continued to create paintings that are similar, but done in torn paper. I do a lot of commission work. It is a joy to work with clients to create special paintings for their homes. We sit down and talk about ideas. I design a concept, then provide images to help the client visualize the concept. Once we arrive at a plan, I create the original artwork and document the process as it unfolds. My paintings are held in private collections in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Texas.
