About The Artwork
This painting is Gouache on Wood. It comes off the wall a little so the shadows are cast. It is from the "Synapse" series and oceanic forms are prevalent. This piece was completed on the day that Aretha Franklin died. I feel it captures her spirit and serves as my way of honoring the Queen of Soul. I use bold color in my work. It is very time consuming and is quite meditative. All gouache paintings are protected with an acrylic coating.
