The 4 cm deep side is painted blue.

Pelicans, or big birds in general, are for me pieces of the soul-self materialized as pieces in our ego´s. In one painting they can signify different parts in me.

The feminine pink pelican is standing on her own; grooming herself, taking care of herself and not paying attention to the other pelicans. The green pelican seems to call her or question her while the other ones seems to gossip about her. Well you can interpret it as you like! For me it´s the surge for independence without getting confused about others opinions.

Lisa Prudon was born and raised in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam she partly followed the teacher training in drawing d'Witte Lelie and the 1st grade Drawing Teachers' Training at the Lutmastraat. At the age of 28, she moved first to Hoorn and next to Werveshoof from where she started ´Prudon Design`. She designed for various clients on commission. For three years, she designed the monthly exhibition posters for the Artists' association ´Kunstenaarsvereniging Hoorn en omstreken`. She also painted portraits at that time and received various airbrush assignments. In 2004 and 2005 she worked on freelance basis as tattoo artist at Custom Tattoo Supplies. In addition, she created free work such as screen-prints, linocut prints and airbrush work. In 2006 she moved to the south of Spain, the Alpujarra Mountains, where she organized, together with a partner, special holidays aimed at drawing and painting the beautiful surroundings. After three years she decided to continue alone and to focus more on developing her own art and giving courses and workshops. She finds her inspiration mainly in nature and people in her own environment. The direct creative 'communication' plays an important role for her. In addition to direct work, she uses her own photographs, previously printed in her darkroom, as inspiration sources. In Spain she became involved in two artists groups. First in 2010,'Alpujarra: Arte Vivo` and from 2016 Artist's Network Alpujarra. In both groups she was involved from the start of the group. Missing her family, she moved back to the Netherlands in the Summer of 2019.
