About The Artwork

Jesus will return to the world a second time. He comes unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. This work guides you through the story. The work 'Adoration of the Kings' by Rubens (on which this artwork is based) shows the beginning of the story. 'Revelations' shows the ending, which is actually a new start. On the left you have all the disaster. It is dark and there is a grim atmosphere. It reminds us to be careful with your earthly existence because not everything that glitters is gold. The serpent hanging from the cliff spells the word 'SIN'. A reference to the origin of our sins in the garden of Eden. Although no one is perfect, God has given us willpower as stated in Luke 10:19. You see the lion doing this by crushing the serpent. Even though you are having a hard time. He will help you. You are not alone. There is good news. Jesus died for our sins. He has conquered death and is alive. That is the reference of the lamb. In the last days it becomes difficult. Who will not deny Jesus when Revelations 13:17 occurs? The Holy Spirit in the form of a dove goes to heaven. Our real home. Our 'premonition', 'conscience', etc. comes from our soul, which, if it is open, can be touched by the Holy Spirit. An intense and secure feeling. A map to the road. The way to it is Jesus. He is the water of life. You see yourself growing, finding happiness through his love for you. Love to share with your loved ones here on earth in the now and beyond in the Kingdom of God. Gold has different meanings throughout the work. With the lion it symbolizes royalty. On the right it represents a reward. You've been through enough already. It's time for peace and rest.
