My tongue is a shrine On which god takes a rest; And form a world out of bliss! My tongue isn’t a river of guilt, It is an ocean of remembrance; A universe of conversation – Running into a sea of sanctum! There is minimal room for emptiness to form on this artwork. Instead, a persistent exploration of the artist's spiritual essence and the universe is elevated to the status of a holy story, illuminating the type of creative power that drives life. Sacred discourse is painted in gold, yellow, red, white, and intermingled with blues and blacks to create a narrative serenade; a story that reaffirms the artist's solo journey towards divinity. The universe of human experience is understood as a fluid, organic unity in which spirit men, women, animals, plants, and elements are in constant dialogue; thus the term "holy discourse." For Africa, the bond with the ancestors, and by extension, with God, penetrates all aspect of existence. The unseen realm of spirit and the apparent world of physical existence intertwine and affect one another metaphorically. The material universe and the divinity are one entity.
