About The Artwork
The Mexican Island of Isla Mujeres (Ile of Women) right off of Cancun, with its white sand and crystal clear, blue water is one of my favorite places for subjects for painting. Here the fishing boats are on the beach as the waves move to shore, painted with impasto oil with a painting knife, like delicious frosting on a cake.

I am a painter, potter, phottographer and writer. I exhibit my work all across the United States and my work can be found in many public and private collections. I was an art teacher at the secondary level for 33 years and have been an adjunct professor of art for 15 years at Simpson College. I wrote a newspaper column for 29 years in addition to being avserious, practicing artist. Some of my work is based upon my travels while other work is created from my own surroundings. My studio is in Indianola, Iowa were I also enjoy creating beautiful flower gardens.
