Once I was walking around the ancient city of Kashgar and saw an old man at the bazaar. He was inviting people and selling his ladles. He made these ladles himself from gourd, like our ancestors did for many centuries. I couldn’t miss this image clearly shows how the simplest craft connects hundreds of years and hundreds of generations, and reflected it in my art.
