About The Artwork
This painting was inspired by the semi-precious Turquoise stone mined from the Sleeping Beauty mine in Arizona. Influenced by Wolf Kahn and David Hockney the hill side is awash in turquoise and teal highlighted by vibrant magenta and violet trees. Combined the colors are a play on the childhood fairy tale imagining a forest and hill in an imaginary world.

I'm an artist living in Central Illinois who is inspired by color and Wolf Kahn. I would consider myself more of a colorist than an artist. I have my own system for color and stick to a loose routine and rules. Something that was difficult in the beginning for me but in following Wolf's work I became more adapted to it over time. I try to use color as a compositional element rather than an emotional or decorative element. It’s not about expertise its much simpler I believe in good color theory and unlocking a paints truest potential.
