About The Artwork
"Stepping Stones" is an acrylic on canvas art work and was inspired and influenced from the colour and shapes formed from the beautiful Dorset coastline where I live. I often walk my Rhodesian Ridgeback along the coast and I wanted to create an abstract work that the viewer could pick up feelings of the coastline without it being a seascape. From the pebbles, stone and rock, to the sand and water along the beach, I hope that this has come out in this work. This artwork comes with black painted sides and is fitted with D rings and picture hanging cord ready to hang.

My work focuses on creating contemporary and abstract compositions using traditional media and techniques such as acrylics, inks, canvas and board. I look at the deterioration of materials such as walls, buildings, fabrics and the natural weathered ageing process of painted surfaces for the inspiration to create my work. As well as this, I like to create abstract wall art using drift wood and found or recycled objects. These are often found whilst walking my Ridgeback on the beaches of the Dorset coastline where I live. I enjoy creating layered, textured and weathered looking works that can be achieved with a basic palette knife. I find these to be the most natural and effective forms to create the artworks that reflect me and the type of art that I enjoy.
