Not everyone equally likes these places. And not all areas are equally good. Each has its own advantages and its own acute problems. But over time, the government of Riga is trying to ennoble these areas. There are many new sports and playgrounds, green parks and a large network of different shops. I like living in my area. I like that there is a lot of greenery, good air, different shops are available. I have many friends living here. In this artwork I wanted to show the beauty and romance that exists in these quarters. Show that it’s cozy and comfortable for living. And despite the unsightly architecture of the prefabricated houses, this also has its own functional aesthetics. The painting displays an ordinary scene from life. But the main thing here is not the city, not houses, not people. The main thing is the beauty nature. And this magnificent flowering bush is a symbol of the value of nature itself, which generously gives us its beauty, fills us with its strength and energy, and brings us a big variety of pleasant emotions. Searching for my own path in painting took me a certain time. It has passed nine years since my first attempts to paint. However, during last several years I have started feeling self-assured, as my works reached desired level of skilfulness and artistic approach, and I really started liking them. Currently my love to post-impressionist artists' paintings became especially strong. I am often inspired by the works of Vincent van Gogh, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Edouard Vuillard, Albert Marquet, and Latvian artist Janis Valters. Most of all I value coloristic beauty of their works as well as the artists’ ability to show the weather conditions and the state of the nature with one brush stroke. Now I look into the future with greater confidence, think over new creative plans, and expect fulfilling them!
