The bright palette of Sunny Side of the Street reflects the upbeat attitude of the song. An excerpt is below. The painting has a contemporary thin white floater frame that brings the dimensions to 12 3/8" x 12 3/8" x 1 1/2" deep. The song was written by Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields in 1930. Some say that Fats Waller was the composer, but he sold the rights to the song. It is a jazz standard and has been played and recorded by many bands and singers, most notably Louis Armstrong. Step into the sunny side of the street. Grab your coat and get your hat Leave your worries on the doorstep Life can be so sweet On the sunny side of the street Can't you hear the pitter-pat And that happy tune is your step Life can be complete On the sunny side of the street I used to walk in the shade with my blues on parade But I'm not afraid, this rover's crossed over
