Sunset at St Hippolyte Painting

The heat came, bringing with it sultry evenings and nights that brought the most glorious, intense, colour-filled sunsets. One evening, I was driving past St Hippolyte, a few kilometres down the road from where I live, in the south of France when I happened upon the setting sun. The glowing globe seemed large against the heat shimmer in the burnt-orange sky. I stopped the car to fully take in the moment and slowly, the sun disappeared below the distant hillside. The memory of that sight percolated in my mind for a week. And then, when I was starting a new large canvas, the first colour I made was a rich burnt orange. The memory of that evening was in my finger tips... This 31.75″ x 31.75 x 1.75″, acrylic on canvas is ready to hang.Framing is not required.
